W13 dominant white (W13)
W13 is a version of the KIT gene that produces a white or majority white coat pattern. It has been found in Australia in Miniature Horses descended from Sweetwater Picasso Painted Wild.
Sweetwater Picasso Painted Wild was born in 1983 in the USA and was imported to Australia. There is no known link between this Miniature Horse stallion and the Quarter Horse x Peruvian Paso horse in which the W13 mutation was originally identified.
No horses have been identified yet carrying two copies of W13.
