How to use

To use the coat colour calculator you need to:

1. Define the colour genetics of the sire
2. Define the colour genetics of the dam
3. Click Continue

That's all there is to it!

Really, the hard part is finding out the colour genetics of your stallions and mares.

If you haven't had them DNA tested we suggest playing around with the colour genetics options until it shows an illustration that looks like your horse. You can also click through to get your horse tested for the genes for that colour, too, so you can come back and be confident that you are doing it correctly.

If you have had your horses colour tested you can enter their genotypes based on your test results. There is information available in the ? button that should help if you are trying to put in results from a lab other than Practical Horse Genetics.
